A money bowl is a manifestation ritual used to attract wealth, financial opportunities, and abundant flow. It is both a visual intention-setting tool and a slow living ritual rather than a quick fix.

It’s likely that you won’t get a major cash windfall right away. Rather it’s a boost in all the ways that wealth comes to you, and I’m not just talking emotional self-worth, I’m talking cash to pay your bills. It may come in the form of finding the spare $20 you accidentally left in your jacket pocket last winter, a wild launch success, or being able to manifest money when you need, and faster than you’d expect.

So how you do you build one? It’s actually very simple.

GATHER

There is no “right way” to build a money bowl. Each component should be meaningful to you, it doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else. I chose what I have on hand, and you should too. There is no need to go out and spend money on supplies, that’s the exact opposite of manifesting prosperity.

VESSEL

You will need a vessel – a cup, bowl, or unique container – to hold your spell components and intention of prosperity and abundance. I recommend it has an open top so that the energy can continue to circulate.

base

Start with a base of at least one, or combination of RICE, OATS, COFFEE BEANS, DRIED BEANS, or even SALT. You can get a little fancy and use green food dye to give your base the color of prosperity.

HERBS & SPICES FOR PROSPERITY

I chose CINNAMON STICKS, STAR ANISE, and CLOVES that I had left over from Yule. I dried an ORANGE peel from my lunch because I want my money to leave me feeling happy and energized and not drained or overworked. I dug through my spice cabinet and found OREGANO and ground NUTMEG. I dried a bouquet of ALSTROEMERIA from Beltane, so I included some of those as well.

Other great choices are GINGER, DILL, ROSEMARY, PARSLEY, or even PUMPKIN SPICE and ITALIAN SEASONING.

A staple in my money bowl is a GREEN AVENTURINE star. My partner and I work our money bowl together, his contribution is a MOSS AGATE dragonfly. Use whatever crystal speaks prosperity to you – it could be PYRITE, or CLEAR QUARTZ for amplification, or even CARNELIAN if you’re asking for a raise or confidence in trying something new.

ADDITIONAL SYMBOLS OF WEALTH

Add any additional symbols of wealth – coins, lucky charms, dice, a green or gold candle, or sigils of prosperity.

ASSEMBLE

Now that you’ve selected your items, it’s time to start building the magick.

CLEANSE

Center and open your space. Then cleanse the items and yourself. You may choose smoke (such as a money drawing incense or cinnamons stick), breathing or holding your hands over the bowl, or sound (bell, clapping, or songs about abundance).

LAYER

Begin by adding your base. You can add your candle in the center of the bowl, or light it next to it (that’s what I do). Then sprinkle in your herbs, crystals, and symbols how you choose.

SET INTENTIONS

Write your intention on a manifestation check or slip of paper and be specific. You can always add to or change intentions as you work with the bowl. Write in present tense as if it’s already happening to you. You can use affirmations like “money flows easily to me” or specific amounts for things you need like money for rent or car repairs. I rub orange essential oil on my hands before I write to energize my intentions.

place in a meaningful spot

Once your bowl is assembled, place it in a meaningful spot – a desk, by your front door, on a dresser. I keep mine in the corner cabinet of my kitchen so that the cat’s can’t get to it, but I see it often.

DAILY INTERACTION

Money bowls work best when money moves in and out of them. So feed your bowl often, use the money when you need it, and replenish it later.

Making a money date is a good way to work with it on a weekly basis (Thursday is a good day), sit down, light a green or gold candle, and balance your checkbook or look at any upcoming bills or expenses.

Remember to thank your bowl by feeding it herbs or coins any time you notice signs of abundance – money coming in, bills getting paid, unexpected gifts and opportunities.

REFRESH

Refresh the bowl when you feel the time is right – could be monthly or seasonally. Carefully deconstruct, cleanse, and then reassemble the bowl.
