Peach Mint Summer Solstice Sun Tea (with lemonade)

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

It’s like sipping on sunshine… almost.

Stir up some witchery in the kitchen with a Summer Solstice solar favourite – sun tea. It’s so easy and nostalgic. We’ll put a little bit of a twist on it at the end, you’ll see.

To begin your sun tea you will need three things: the sun, a pitcher, and some tea. It doesn’t really matter what kind. This drink is very customizable, but I included a recipe for those who like to follow along.

I started with a base of water and peach teabags. The brand I chose was Bigelow Perfect Peach which includes Rose hips, Hibiscus, Orange Peel, Lemon Peel, Apples, Roasted Chicory Root, and Peaches but feel free to sub for any tea of your choice. You may want to add some fruit that aligns with the solstice or your intention. I chose peach, mint, and lemons.

PEACH is useful in protection and love spells. Bonus, dry out the pit and you can include it in a charm bag along with the dried tea leaves, if you wish.

MINT represents abundance and cleansing.

LEMONS exude solar energy so they are a perfect addition to this dish. Lemons aid in clarity, happiness, and protection. They are also great cleansers useful for starting fresh.

The key to sun tea is letting it steep in – you guessed it, the sun. Fill your pitcher with water, add 5-7 tea bags and any sliced fruit or herbs you wish. Then, take it outside on a hot day and let it steep for 3-5 hours (trust me, it’s worth it).

Pro witch tip: make sure the container you use is covered, I added a paper towel and a rubber band to keep the critters away.

Once it’s done steeping, this solar-infused beverage can be drank warm or cold. I found mint lemonade from one of my favourite brands, Summer House. I poured myself a glass of half lemonade and half tea over ice.

There you have it! A perfect spell on it’s own, or enjoyed alongside card pulls, your solstice feast, or additional spellwork. Happy Solstice!
